Whole Foods = Whole 30

Yesterday I just wanted a salad to go with my grilled chicken, so I walked over to Whole Foods.  I asked my co-worker to go with me because I had never been before and she is a healthy eater.

It was amazing!  My mind was racing with excitement at all the Whole 30 compliant foods.  I LOVE IT!!

The thing that got me was when I starred at the dessert counter.  I just stood there starring at all of the delicious, sweet treats that I wanted in my mouth and then my tummy.  I just imagined smooshing  all of those creamy cakes all over my mouth like a savage.

I walked away without a sweet treat, because in the end I didn't even have a desire to eat it.

Whole 30 Day 3

I'm on day three and hitting a little bit of a wall.  I am not hungry, but I have a terrible headache and I I am currently starring at my co-worker eating pizza.

That is where Teddy and I are at right now.  We watch the food channel because it shows food that we can't have.  How funny is that!

Yesterday I wanted a cookie so bad, but I didn't succumb to my craving.  I just beguilingly fought through it. When I got home, O had bought two boxes of Do-Si-Dos.  Yes, I gave up all sugars for 30 days while I still had Girl Scout Cookies in the house.  I didn't eat them, but I did stand there and smell them.  Ha ha ha ha.

On Tuesday night we had pan seared chicken, with a roasted red pepper sauce, baked red potatoes and a cole slaw with an oil/lemon dressing.  It was sooooooo good.

Yesterday, I ate the Frittata for breakfast. Then I had a half of a grapefruit for a snack.  For lunch I ate the leftover chicken, potatoes and cole slaw.  At dinner I wasn't hungry, but I didn't want to skip a meal so I just ate the leftover chicken protein salad from Tuesday.

This morning I struggled eating the Frittata and chose a hard boiled egg and some fruit.  Next time I will eat two hard boiled eggs.  For lunch I will have the rest of the chicken and potatoes with some fruit as well.  It was soooooooo good.  For dinner we are having grilled flank steak, grilled asparagus and maybe some potatoes.

Teddy and I are going to explore meat options for breakfast as we need to find an economical way to incorporate sausage and bacon.

Thanks for reading and I am trying to update this everyday.

Whole 30 - Oh Boy!!!!

Teddy and I have decided to take the plunge and start the Whole 30 life style change! For 30 days there is no sugar, no grains, no legumes, no processed foods!

What have we gotten ourselves into?????

We technically started it last night by eating spaghetti squash, ground beef and a tomato sauce.  The sauce was a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes, carrots, celery and onions that simmered for an hour on the stove.

It was amazing!!!!  I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it.  All these years I turned my nose up to it and I was wrong!

I don't want to post the picture of me, but I will admit my weight....230 pounds!  Oh boy, I can't believe I just admitted that!

Stay tuned for more updates of what we are eating and how we are doing!

I admit it, I've cheated....

It's true, I've cheated and fallen in love. Whom I cheated on has been a part of my life for a very long time. Our relationship was always spectator, but a few years ago it heated up! We saw each other once or twice a week.  Then it increased to 5 times and sometimes twice a day. I have so many memories, both good and bad. It almost breaks my heart to admit it....

Yes, you guessed it. I've cheated on Dunken Donuts :( There I've said it.  That wasn't so bad.  I have found Best Donuts aka Beso Donuts. They are so good! They melt in your mouth! And they don't make my tummy hurt because I can only eat one. Dunkin required a few more before I would feel satisfied.

The other amazing thing with my new donut love is that I don't crave them. For some reason if I drove by a DD I would think about them all day. But driving my these shops, and I drive by 3 each morning, it doesn't bother me at all.

Oh Beso Donuts....I love our new relationship!!!!!

Hilarious!

A few things have happened to me over the last month or two. I can't go in to much detail because I don't want all the drama, but needless to say they have forced me to change my attitude about a lot of things. Why am I worrying about what people think? They don't care if their words or actions hurt.

For so long I've personalized everything. If you walk in a room upset I immediately think I did something. If you are whispering with someone nearby I immediately think it's about me. Some might say it's me being vain. But I think it's from years of being verbally beaten down.

It is very rare that someone has something nice to say to me. If I come up with an idea I'm told to "shut-up", "sit down", or "you don't know what you're talking about". So now, I'm sticking up for myself. I say what's on my mind.

I don't like hurting people, but why should others be allowed to say what they feel and I'm not?

What is funny is seeing everyone's reactions! They don't seem to like it too much!  They still try to put my down or "put me in my place", but if that is what you want I don't need to be that involved in your life. I'm not cutting people out of my life, but I'm not going to cater to their "demands". They can find another punching bag. If they don't like it, well then stop talking to me. Then I'll know for sure it's because I did something.

Dirty Girl

Teddy, O and I went to the grocery store this afternoon. It was actually an easy trip. Normally they take so long and O and Teddy are both throwing a fit by the time we walk out the door. Most recently I have been taking O to the car while Teddy checks out. That keeps her from seeing all the "special" treats that wait at the check out.

Today as O and I walked out to the car I saw something in the parking lot. As we got closer I realized it was a tampon....I will let the image take over....

Clearly it had been used and left in the parking lot for a long time. I was in complete shock! You see dirty diapers, but I never thought I would see this. It was like a terrible car crash where I just couldn't look away.

I wanted to take picture as evidence that I'm not making this up, but I was too embarrassed to take a photo of a dirty tampon. And then I thought, who wants to read a blog that has pictures of dirty tampons...

Creeper, Finger and Noobs

Oh the good times at Happy Hour...I was sitting around with some friends putting back a few beers when my damned pandora bracelet snagged my sweater. I just got the sweater for my birthday!!!!!

Throughout the night everyone kept saying that the snag was right on my nipple...so we took a picture:

The best part of the pic is that you can't even see the snag! You can only see Teddy and his Chester mustache, a random finger, and my boobs! Good times :)

Later that evening my friend who took this picture and I were laughing over txt. Damned autocorrect changed boobs to noobs and now you have a great title to a blog post!!!!

Really Adidas, really?

For Christmas Teddy gave me a really cool green jacket with a good that will cover my head when walking/running. It even has really cool holes for my thumbs....but alas, it is a little snug. So I went back to the store to exchange it.

Now, I am one of those people that ask the employees to help me right when I walk into the store. So, I ask this nice young lady where the jackets were. She said just one moment and then went to the counter. I followed her and was told by another employee that my jacket was not in the 50% sale. I said ok, but that's not what I asked.

Then, no joke, another employee came up right behind her and said that my jacket isn't 50% off. Immediately after, another employee came up and said...yup, you guessed it...my jacket is not 50% off.

I told them that I wasn't asking about that, that I only asked them where it was in the store. They said, oh it's on the toundabout...then I said well which one you have about 10.

Finally I found the rack aka roundabout, which thence hole time I could only thnk of my mom driving through a roundabout, but they didn't even have my size.

As I left the store, I told the girl I was keeping my jacket and I appreciated all her help. While I rolled my eyes...

Hello 2014, I've Been Waiting

One Day You'll Learn

As I sit in my bed and prepare for tomorrow's adventures, I am trying to do a little soul searching. I'm not really sure what that means really, but I decided that I wasn't going to set any resolutions this year. What I want to do is focus on being happy.

I need to focus in the following things:
1) Teddy
2) O
3) My health
4) My families health
5) My job
6) My education
7)Friends

I find myself leaking towards numbers 3 and 7 than all the others.  Last year I made a HUGE career change and I've been falling in the same routine.

My goal, not resolution, is to get healthier and make more positive, supportive friends.

Trick or Poop??

I thought it would be a good idea to take O out to see all of the Halloween decorations a few days before the big night.

It started off nice, we ate dinner, got laced up and began our jaunt. About a block from home, O says she has to go to the bathroom. So we turn around and start walking back home. Then she says that she has to go poo really, really bad. Teddy picks her up to carry her home but she is not having it, so I try to carry her but I still have a hard time after the old elbow injury. So I put her down an we start running back....that backfired....we got to the driveway and she stops, screams, and starts to cry.

I pick her up, the crying stops, unlock the front door and then put her down to walk to bathroom. What happens next is so horrible....she takes a few steps, stops, looks at me and screams bloody murder....then I hear it....that moment when you know someone pooped their pants and they know you know is pretty weird.  So I pick her up again and run to the bathroom where I attempt to help her pull down her pants to sit on the potty. That was successful, but then she sees that she has had an accident and all he'll breaks loose!!!!

She starts yelling at me, throwing punches at me...then she kicks her legs, which still had the dirty underwear because I was dogging fists and couldn't get them off in time.

Now the floor, walls, and yes me are covered in poo...

Happy Halloween everyone....

I'm Back In Full Force...

Yesterday marked my one year anniversary of not blogging.  I am not sure what the cause of that was.  I even added the BlogSpot app to my phone, but alas, it didn't matter.

Nonetheless, I am back at it.  For my first post, I wanted to write about something that happened to me just today. It starts with the Skate Land story that everyone has heard so I am not going to go into a lot of detail.  On July 27th, I fell while roller-skating and fractured my radial head in my right elbow.  No surgery was necessary, but I have been in Physical Therapy ever since.

Yesterday, my Doctor finally released me from his care and said I need to finish my PT and then move on with life.  He didn't say that specifically, but that it was I took from it.  I was told that my arm would never fully extend, but who really extends their arms out anyway?  Well, it is a good thing I am not an athlete because I can't even throw a ball.

Now, let me get to today's post/incident.  O is on fall break, and Teddy (yes, I still refer to him as that) took the week off to spend quality Daddy/Daughter time.  Teddy called me and asked to meet them at the park after I got off work, which was very exciting because it has been so nice out.

When I get to the park O runs up and tells me they have been flying her kite.  It is a cheap one that she got from a kids meal at Chik-fil-A, but it looked fun.  I am 30 1/2 year's old and I don't ever remember flying a kite...EVER.  So I thought it would be fun to take it for a spin.

O was so supportive and was showing me how to do it.  When the kite would get off the ground, she would clap and say "There you go Mom.  There you go." It was super cute as that is what Teddy and I say to her.

With O's support and the wind picking up nicely, I was focused and in "kite mode."  That is what I am calling it since I wasn't focusing on anything else.  I am running and looking up at the kite in pure bliss (imagine slow motion like they show in the movies) and then it happened....

My knees hit the ground; I turn my head in just enough time to put my hands out to brace myself (remember that is what got me in trouble at the roller-rink); I go down hard and I let out a loud grunt; I hear O behind me "OOOOOHHHHHH KKKKNNNNOOOOWWWW MMMMOOOOMMMMMMMYYYYYY, Are you ok?"; I roll over and pull down my shirt (which was probably pushed up when my knees actually made contact with my stomach when I hit the ground); then I notice that I have ants all over my legs, due to the fact that I fell right on an ant hill; I try to get up but my elbow and my right knee are hurting so bad.

Olivia made her way over and was trying to help me.  I look at Teddy expecting to see him running over to help his hurt wife.....nope, he didn't even know it happened.  He was responding to a work e-mail.  So I asked O to run over and tell him I got hurt and to come help me.  When I showed him my knee he reprimanded me and said that, again, I am not allowed to do extreme sports.  I replied that this was kite flying, not really extreme.

When I showed them  my knee, O said "Oh mommy, let's go home and put some ice on it."  Sometimes she really is the sweetest thing in the world.  Teddy said "I can't let you do anything."

Here is the picture of the infamous hill...it doesn't look big in this picture, but I assure you it was HUGE.

See, if you look carefully you can see the incline of the hill.  Saboteur.....

This next photo shows the damage....it hurt really bad....

What the???

I went downstairs last week to the sandwich man and ordered a cup of chili. I'm pretty sure it is from a can, but it is good regardless. Anyway, when you order chili or soup you get saltine crackers. I LOVE saltine crackers!!! After lunch, I started working again and had to get up to get something off the printer. When I can back I found my chair with crumbs on it! Embarrassing!!! I'm that girl with the dirty chair.

Cluster F&$!

I have had a few clusters in my time, but this one might take the cake.

Tonight after an amazing dinner, if I do say so myself, we decided we would go on a bike ride to the park. Well Teddy had stored the bikes on the side of the house so the seats and tires became warped. So he started fixing them and got them ready to go.

Inside the house, I was dealing with something else that was warped...O...she had a meltdown every five seconds after we started with the bikes. Literally screening her head off. Then Adam wanted to leave her in her buggy while he fixed it. I finally got her out of the buggy and inside and in the bath, which was necessary because she was so hot and sweaty! Finally I hit her in pajamas and in bed. It was horrible!!!

I can only imagine our neighbors watching out their windows and laughing...or judging!

New Motto

I am going to start living like this!!!

Golfing

Had my first experience golfing this past weekend. I did pretty good considering it was my first time. My favorite line was after I hid my first driver and both Teddy and my brother said "I didn't know you could hit like that."

I am excited to keep going!

Great Weekend

Well we are on our way home from the cabin and all in all it was a good trip. It was a little hard every now and then because of some overbearing guests but other than that pretty good.

The funniest part of the trip was nickname. Apparently mom knows everything about anything. So teddy shawn Alyssa and andy named her se. Brown, then professor brown, then Watson was what stuck. Moms response "Watson was Sherlock Homes' sidekick so I don't really know how that makes sense." oh to be as smart as mom :)

The next best thing was watching Olivia and cece play. They had so much fun. Sometimes in the middle of the night Olivia would wake up asking for cece.

I think we might make this an annual trip!
