Day 18!!!!!!!

Oh snap!!!!  We are on Day 18!!!!! It has been getting easier and we aren't feeling that deprived.

We found compliant turkey lunch meat at Whole Foods, which I was so excited.  Granted, it was $8 for a small package, but isn't something we eat everyday.  It is more for a quick lunch or snack.

This last week was pretty nice as we actually planned out our meals.  Adam grilled a weeks worth of steak, chicken and sausage.  It actually only lasted 3 days, since we ate them for lunch, dinner and breakfast.  But it still wasn't that bad.

It is really interesting now that our first reaction to is to either ask or read what the ingredients are.  We NEVER did that before.  I never would have thought that after only 18 days, we would actually look at it that closely.

We are on the home stretch with only 12 DAYS LEFT!!!!!

Days 6, 7 and 8

It is true what they said in the book!  Adam and I woke up on Saturday feeling AMAZING!  We are on Day 8 and managed to survive our first weekend and an adult birthday party.  We still had fun and only stayed at the party for a couple hours.  Which is good because we go to bed around 9 p.m. now!

Only 22 more days to go!  We got this!!!!

Day 5

This is how I felt on Friday.  That has bar far been the worst day!  I was in a terrible mood, had a headache and just wanted to eat a HUGE PIZZA FROM COSTCO!!!!

To make it worse, I was a guest speaker at ITT Tech and they were serving COSTCO PIZZA!!!!

I wanted to cheat so bad.  It smelled and looked so good, but I held strong!  I told Adam that since I don't cheat on our marriage, I won't cheat on our life style change!

Needless to say, I went to bed angry and wanting to drown myself in ranch from Bleachers.

Whole Foods = Whole 30

Yesterday I just wanted a salad to go with my grilled chicken, so I walked over to Whole Foods.  I asked my co-worker to go with me because I had never been before and she is a healthy eater.

It was amazing!  My mind was racing with excitement at all the Whole 30 compliant foods.  I LOVE IT!!

The thing that got me was when I starred at the dessert counter.  I just stood there starring at all of the delicious, sweet treats that I wanted in my mouth and then my tummy.  I just imagined smooshing  all of those creamy cakes all over my mouth like a savage.

I walked away without a sweet treat, because in the end I didn't even have a desire to eat it.

Whole 30 Day 3

I'm on day three and hitting a little bit of a wall.  I am not hungry, but I have a terrible headache and I I am currently starring at my co-worker eating pizza.

That is where Teddy and I are at right now.  We watch the food channel because it shows food that we can't have.  How funny is that!

Yesterday I wanted a cookie so bad, but I didn't succumb to my craving.  I just beguilingly fought through it. When I got home, O had bought two boxes of Do-Si-Dos.  Yes, I gave up all sugars for 30 days while I still had Girl Scout Cookies in the house.  I didn't eat them, but I did stand there and smell them.  Ha ha ha ha.

On Tuesday night we had pan seared chicken, with a roasted red pepper sauce, baked red potatoes and a cole slaw with an oil/lemon dressing.  It was sooooooo good.

Yesterday, I ate the Frittata for breakfast. Then I had a half of a grapefruit for a snack.  For lunch I ate the leftover chicken, potatoes and cole slaw.  At dinner I wasn't hungry, but I didn't want to skip a meal so I just ate the leftover chicken protein salad from Tuesday.

This morning I struggled eating the Frittata and chose a hard boiled egg and some fruit.  Next time I will eat two hard boiled eggs.  For lunch I will have the rest of the chicken and potatoes with some fruit as well.  It was soooooooo good.  For dinner we are having grilled flank steak, grilled asparagus and maybe some potatoes.

Teddy and I are going to explore meat options for breakfast as we need to find an economical way to incorporate sausage and bacon.

Thanks for reading and I am trying to update this everyday.

Whole 30 - Oh Boy!!!!

Teddy and I have decided to take the plunge and start the Whole 30 life style change! For 30 days there is no sugar, no grains, no legumes, no processed foods!

What have we gotten ourselves into?????

We technically started it last night by eating spaghetti squash, ground beef and a tomato sauce.  The sauce was a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes, carrots, celery and onions that simmered for an hour on the stove.

It was amazing!!!!  I couldn't believe how much I enjoyed it.  All these years I turned my nose up to it and I was wrong!

I don't want to post the picture of me, but I will admit my weight....230 pounds!  Oh boy, I can't believe I just admitted that!

Stay tuned for more updates of what we are eating and how we are doing!
